Welcome!

Dear Reader,

Thank you so much for visiting my website and for your interest in Home for Erring and Outcast Girls and Calling Me Home! (Bets are on whether my next novel will include the word home.)

If you’ve had an opportunity to read one or both, I hope you enjoyed the experience—even if it required a few tissues. I hope you learned things you didn’t know before. I hope you took something away from reading in exchange for your precious time—perhaps even a changed view.

I also hope you’ll tell any friends or family members who might enjoy reading them. Word-of-mouth is the very best way to help a book take flight! Trust me when I say word-of-mouth kept Calling Me Home selling the entire time you’ve waited for Home for Erring and Outcast Girls. Leaving reviews on sites such as Goodreads, booksellers, social media, etc., are appreciated and helpful as well.

It boils down to this: The more readers talk about books they love, the more excitement and attention (known in the publishing industry as buzz) is generated, thus, allowing a novel to get into all the right hands!

Now and then, I’ll post here with an exciting update about one of the books or a new novel in the works, or anything else related to books or writing that’s on my mind. You may subscribe to my notes via the form on the sidebar of this page.

In the meantime, cherish and enjoy your reading life! I’ve heard it said, “Story can change the world, one reader at a time.” I’m not sure who said it first, but I believe it.

Kindest regards,

Julie Kibler
Author of Home for Erring and Outcast Girls and Calling Me Home

I read both of your books. Home for Erring and Outcast Girls and Calling Me Home,t back to back in just a few days. The characters in both books will stay with me forever. I am touched, humbled, sad and overwhelmed by their lives. Your words are so heartfelt about the struggles they faced.
Your book Calling Me Home helped me to grieve a loss of my own that I have tried to keep deep inside.
    Thank you

I just finished Home for Erring and Outcast Girls. I loved it. I never knew this place existed. I also never knew how women from that time were not treated fairly. Wonderful book! Thanks Julie!

Just finished Calling Me Home and felt compelled to tell you how it blew me away! Hard to believe it’s your debut novel! I can’t wait to read Home for Erring and Outcast Girls. Please keep writing and I promise to keep reading. I am recommending it to all of my friends who are readers and posting about it in a Facebook group called What Should I Read Next? Thank you!

Just stopping by your website to see if you have a new book 🙂
As a self-professed book snob, there are few authors whose work I eagerly await – and yours ranks highest on the list! It’s not just me, btw. My ‘book snob’ friends agree that a truly good book is hard to find – one not padded with an extra hundred pages to please the publisher. Thanks for staying true to the craft!!

Just finished “Calling Me Home”. I shared the title and author with several friend just now via text, and this is what I told them about it: “Such a rich, warm story! I stayed in bed all morning until I finished it. Full of all the things in a great story; love, heartbreak, suspense, fear, rage and tenderness.”
I look forward to reading “Home for Erring and Outcast Girls”, but know I will go back to “Calling Me Home” before long. I just have to get immersed in that warm, rich, full story again!
